Have questions? Having Trouble? Maybe these answers from ScrapsterTM will help.

Q. How Do I Register For Recycling?

A: It's easy. Simply go to our home page and click Get Started at the end of the introduction. You will then be able to select your product category and be asked to provide the make, model and/or type so we can assess any potential reward value should your product be eligible for a second life. You will then be prompted to continue with your registration process. Once you provide us with your mailing information and accept terms you will receive a member login id and temporary password. This same information will be provided in an email.

Q. Do you offer your services outside the United States?

A: At this time we only operate within the U.S. We will be looking to expand our services but can't say when at this time.

Q. Do you recycle other products?

A: At this time we recycle only the products listed on the site. The next products we'll be adding to the site for recycling are Cameras, GPS Systems and Game Systems; these should be available by the mid-year.

We are continuing to look for new avenues to address this growing need, possibly with larger collection events to gather items too large to ship and carrying no value. Please check back frequently for more information.

Q. I have multiple items to recycle. Can I send them all in one package?

A: At this time, MyBoneYard® is set-up to recycle one product per registration. So, you will need to register all products separately; for ease of recycling additional products the site will pre-populate some information in the registration process for you. Just remember that you will need to mail each item individually with the corresponding voucher and pre-paid mailing label that are generated in your confirmation email.

Q. Will you take my monitor?

A: When you are returning a CPU we will also take your CRT (tube) monitor. Just indicate in the product selection that a CRT monitor is being returned at the same time and we will provide two prepaid shipping labels, 1 of 2 and 2 of 2 for returning both items together. Any reward amount will be reduced slightly to help cover the cost of receiving and recycling your monitor. We do not collect CRT monitors without a CPU at this time. Please know we are looking for new avenues to address this need.

If you have a flat panel monitor, please select your size screen from our product selection drop down menu, as flat panels often carry an additional reward amount for you. The reward amount that is generated online will be confirmed upon receipt of your product.

Q. What about my accessories – will you recycle them too?

A: When you are recycling a product through MyBoneYard® you can send the accessories with your product, however this is not required. Accessories can be defined as a keyboard, mouse, power cords, phone charger, battery, etc.

Q. If I send you my stuff, can I ever get it back?

A: Once you send us your stuff, it enters our processing lines, and is not able to be returned to you. Therefore, it is important that you give up ownership when you send us your stuff, and that you are the rightful owner before giving up your stuff.

Q. If I recycle my stuff, who pays for the postage and freight?

A: MyBoneYard® pays for in-bound freight by providing a pre-paid shipping label that you print on your own printer. The label is made available to you at the end of your on-line product registration, provided in your initial confirmation email and provided in your Member Login area under the My Recycled Items tab.

Q. How do I find out what my stuff is worth?

A: Click here and you'll be able to determine if a reward value is available for your product. Just enter the make, model, and condition of your product, and you will be provided an estimated reward value. Once we receive your product at our recycling centers we will complete an independent visual inspection to determine the final reward value.

Q. If my specific product isn't listed in the drop-down menus, what do I do?

A: Send it in anyway and we'll determine if a reward value is available for your product and notify you via email.

Q. How do I send you my stuff?

A: Simply package up your product using your own packaging, include the packing slip and attach the pre-paid shipping label to the outside. Computers and Flat Panels are shipped by UPS and should be taken to a registered UPS shipper. Cell phones and music players are shipped via first class mail and can be dropped off at your nearest public mailbox. You do not need to include the original box, manuals, or other accessories with your recycled product.

Q. Do I need to remove any batteries before I send?

A: You should keep batteries in the devices for safety during shipping, just make sure they are turned off. We will make sure that all of the batteries we receive are reused or recycled in an environmentally responsible manner.

Q. What happens to any personal data found on my stuff?

A: We encourage you to clear the data off of your product prior to sending it to us. For phones you should remove your SIM cards. All products received go through a certified data removal process for the device provided. This process is audited on each device prior to leaving our facility.

• For phones, the data removal process includes a complete erasure of all numbers, contacts, data files, etc... and the phone is restored to its original settings. Any SIM cards received are removed and destroyed.

• For computers, all hard drives are erased and completely rewritten, erased again and rewritten again, then erased one final time so that data retrieval is virtually impossible.

Q. Where does my stuff go?

A: This depends upon the condition and model of the product recycled. Where possible your products are remarketed and/or reused (according to the EPA this is the highest form of recycling). If your product is too old to be reused or if the product is damaged, we will reuse everything we can even to the base elements and then properly dispose of any remaining waste material in an environmentally responsible manner.

Q. Do you sell my stuff overseas?

A: We remarket fully functional products overseas to legitimate businesses. Frequently overseas markets are the best source of reuse for your previously owned consumer electronics.

Q. Do you ever donate my stuff?

A: Yes, we frequently donate products, but not on and individual basis. Through our brokers, some go to battered women's shelters, senior citizens homes, schools and 911 services.

Q. Are you a certified recycler?

A: We partner with The Wireless Source, an ISO 14001:2004 certified recycler registered with NSF-ISR since 2007 and Eco International who has participated in innumerable customer audits, including external 3rd party audits by both ERM and CHMEG.
